Install qot
Start with whichever is nearest. Every client works offline on its own; sign in to the same email on each and your notes follow you.
Terminal
macOS and Linux
The quickest way to catch a thought while you work.
With Homebrew:
$ brew install aegatlin/tap/qot
Or without it (installs to ~/.local/bin):
$ curl -LsSf https://github.com/aegatlin/qot/releases/latest/download/qot_cli-installer.sh | sh
Then sign in, and take a note:
$ qot login you@example.com
$ qot get milk
qot login emails you a link and shows a code. Open the link, type the code, and the
terminal is signed in, and so is the browser you opened the link in. Anything after
qot is the note; qot list shows them and qot help shows the
rest.
Web app
Any browser
Notes in a tab, or on your phone's Home Screen. It works offline once it has loaded.
Open app.quantumofthought.com and sign in with your email. To keep it on your phone like an app:
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): the ⋮ menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
- Desktop (Chrome, Edge): the install icon at the end of the address bar.
iPhone
Coming soon
A native app for capture without opening anything: Siri, the Action button, a Control Center
control, and voice notes. Until it's here, the web app on your Home Screen does the job.
Mac
Later
A native Mac app comes after the iPhone. The terminal client runs on macOS today.
